CCCC: Psychology Offerings

The options for completion below include the minimum number of credit hours a student can expect to receive coupled with the most stringent requirement for universal acceptance. Some institutions may award more credit hours or accept lower AP or IB scores. Students should consult their institution of choice for specific requirements.

Students will receive at least three (3) degree credits for Psychology from the participating institutions by completing one of the following options below:
  1. Psychology International Baccalaureate Exam with a score of 5 or higher1
  2. Psychology Advanced Placement Exam with a score of 5 or higher
  3. Dual Enrollment Psychology I and/or II (VCCS course numbers 201 and 202) with a grade of C or higher2
1CICV member institutions require that students take the IB higher level exam. Hampden-Sydney College and Marymount University require a minimum score of 6 on IB exams.
2George Mason University requires a grade of B or higher in Dual Enrollment Psychology to receive credit. University of Richmond, Hampden-Sydney College and Washington and Lee University review dual enrollment courses on a case-by-case basis.
